In this article we are talking about BPO Courses Full Details Eligibility, Fees, College, Admission. Bachelor in Prosthetics and Orthotics – BPO, also known as Bachelor in Honours in Prosthetics and Orthotics – is a Bioscience programme for undergraduates. Prosthetists and orthotists deal with the entire body’s examination, diagnosis, and care. Artificial limbs (prostheses) are provided by prosthetists to persons who have lost all or part of a natural limb. Orthotists make supportive braces and splints (orthoses) for persons who have limb or spine problems. Prosthetists and orthotists help people of all ages and with a variety of needs. The course combines the study of the human body with biomechanics (the effects of forces on the body) and the materials and methods used in the manufacturing of prosthetic limbs and orthoses.

A bachelor’s degree in prosthetics and orthotics, or BPO, is a 4.5-year undergraduate programme. Prosthetics and orthotics are artificially made pieces that are used to correct emotional deficits caused by missing body parts or muscular problems. This programme includes a 6-month internship in both prosthetics and orthotics (3 months each).

Orthotics deals with the treatment of aberrant motion or deformation of body parts such as bones, teeth, etc. by utilising aligners to rectify their alignment. Prosthetics is an artificial alternative for body parts that are replaced with defective or missing body parts such bones, eyes, limbs, or legs, etc.
